Turn Off This Song and Go Outside

Welcome to my heart and soul, a miserable excuse to tell the world of all the pain I've caused; I hope you don't forget these songs.

Set Your Goals

—The Few That Remain

The Few That Remain by Set Your Goals

My favorite track on every album I’ve ever encountered always seems to be the track they end up randomly throwing a girl on and then I never end up being able to see it live. It really hurts my world. Fuck.

Man Overboard

—Love Your Friends, Die Laughing

Because a days worth of bitching goes down the drain
when you lay in my bed and pick my brain.

I’m finally at ease

High Regard by The Story So Far (Acoustic verison)

“Part of our trade that was passive aggressive
In spite of the noose that you are
Smother my name under soil & dirt
In the earth writing the distance apart
Fuck an apology, I’m not sorry for anything
I’ve been holding back my apathy for far too long

You don’t deserve what you haven’t earned
And your place in my heart has just grown so small

I’d like to think that you’re worth my time
But you embody everything that I hate

Take a good hard look at what you see
I’ve lost all my hope and all my faith
Cause when I barely fuck up you just recoil and weep
What do you want from me? I’m just a kid who got in too deep
My walls are built up high forever bound to be steep

I’ve got a birds eye view of all the secrets you keep

Try to tell me that you knew from the start
That I would come to know that most would never
Enter my heart because I’m colder than the others
It’s what sets me apart

You manipulated, tried to shine a light on my dark
But this is my life. You should bounce & never call again
The more strive you’ll find it
in the souls of all the other men
You know you’re not as smart as you look
I’m gonna take back what you took

I’d like to think that you’re worth my time
But you embody everything that I hate

Take a good hard look at what you see
I’ve lost all my hope & all my faith
Cause when I barely fuck up you just recoil & weep
What do you want from me? I’m just a kid who got in too deep
My walls are built up high forever bound to be steep

I’ve got a birds eye view of all the secrets you keep

You know you’re not as smart as you look
I’m going to take back what you took
And you didn’t know shit from the start
And you didn’t know shit from the start”

and +10 for the Daisy shirt he’s wearing.

Roam by The Story So Far

“Never again will i let someone in
You have no idea how unproductive it is to fall in and out of you as often as I do”

This is dedicated to my next failed relationship in advance.

I Look To You ft Kimbra by Miami Horror

I stumbled upon this album “Illumination” through a friend of mine and it’s an absolute gem. It’s super easy listening and relaxing while every song simultaneously possesses the ability to make you want to groove. And just when I thought this album couldn’t possibly appeal to me any stronger, the throw Kimbra on a track who I have had a girl crush on ever since she showed up out of nowhere on Gotye’s track “Somebody That I Used To Know” off of his album Making Mirrors. I’ve been looking for more of her ever since, but unfortunately her solo stuff is less than admirable. I’m going to say she’s like the Nicki Minaj of the Indie pop genre, meaning: i’d never listen to an album she put out on her own but throw that bitch a verse or two and it makes any track instantaneously twelve times better.

Bite My Tongue ft. Oli Sykes by You Me At Six

I might be proud, but at least I’m proud of something
You’ve taken pride in becoming nothing
(As much as I want to apply this to the world I’m pissed off at it probably applies most to me)

For some reason this chorus and it’s lyrics are catchy and awesome to me even though at times I think this dudes vocals sounds like nickleback or some other rusty shit rock band I can’t quite pinpoint at the time. Whatever, any song with angsty” I hate you” lyrics is A OK with me and this one has been on repeat for weeks so here it is on my blog.

Red House Painters

—Have You Forgotten

Have You Forgotten by Red House Painters

“I can’t let you be
‘Cause your beauty won’t allow me
Wrapped in white sheets
Like an angel from a bedtime story
Shut out what they say
‘Cause your friends are fucked up anyway
And when they come around
Somehow they feel up and you feel down

When we were kids
We hated things our parents did
We listened low
To Casey Kasem’s radio show
That’s when friends were nice
To think of them just makes you feel nice
The smell of grass in spring
And October leaves cover everything

Have you forgotten how to love yourself?

I can’t believe all the good things that you do for me
Sat back in a chair
Like a princess from a faraway place
Nobody’s nice
When you’re older your heart turns to ice
And shut out what they say
They’re too dumb to mean it anyway

When we were kids
We hated things our sisters did
Backyard summer pools
And Christmases were beautiful
And the sentiment
Of colored mirrored ornaments
And the open drapes
Look out on frozen farmhouse landscapes

Have you forgotten how to love yourself?”
